Youth is a wellness and fitness app designed to help users look and feel younger by improving posture, flexibility, strength, nutrition and overall health.
In six months, I made a redesign of the app, significantly expanding its functionality and improving the UX and interface in a cohesive, minimalist style.

The Challenge
The app’s user interface was inconsistent, and some sections were still in an MVP state. However, even at that stage, it showed strong potential. The task was to provide users with more content and add additional monetization points while wrapping it in a polished, visually appealing design.
Problem
The product was scaling, and the existing design no longer allowed for maintaining visual consistency or quickly implementing new features.
Solution
A unified visual style and a design system with numerous variable components.

My Plan
Improving Monetization
The content was segmented to attract a wider audience, with each segment serving as a monetization point. I also scaled the onboarding flow, which significantly improved conversion rates.

First session user retention
Onboarding experience includes around 30 interactive questions divided into logical segments.
Between them, users see previews of their personalized plan, which reinforces the feeling that the app is built around their unique goals and abilities.
The product content was divided into segments to boost monetization. I designed paywalls for each monetization point, whether it was unlocking a new segment or upgrading an existing subscription.
User Satisfaction
We have noticed a high percentage of users starting workouts but not finishing them. I improved the video player UX, added workout highlights, and introduced an exercise rating feature.
+27%

+18%
Average session duration
The player’s UX was enhanced with smooth animations, helping users process information more easily. Amid the flow of changing video content, the interface animations behave predictably and clearly communicate the current workout state.

I added exercise previews to the instruction popup screen so users could have a clear visual demonstration of proper technique.
The added post-workout rating feature and comparative user statistics added a gamification element to the training process, increasing user retention.

Desktop Version
Most new users enter through the web onboarding experience. To make the transition to the mobile app optional, I designed a web version of the product optimized for larger devices — desktops, laptops and tablets.
Design System
I developed a complete design system that includes tokens, text styles, variable components, and a set of unique icons.
The design system features clear, easy-to-use documentation, enabling any designer or developer on the team to work with it seamlessly.

The components were built with extensive customization capabilities, allowing new product features to be integrated into the app’s design in the future without compromising visual consistency across elements.
Since the product’s app is cross-platform, I designed the system with the specific guidelines and design principles of both mobile platforms in mind.
